A football fan who passed away while working on the new stadium for his childhood team has received tributes.
Monday marked the death of Kirkby, Merseyside, England resident Michael Jones following an injury sustained at Bramley-Moore Dock in Liverpool, when emergency personnel were contacted at approximately 1:00 pm.
The family of Mr. Jones released a statement in which they thanked everyone for their continued support. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, Michael.
He was thrilled to be working on the new stadium and had been a lifelong blue supporter. We express our gratitude to the NHS employees and our coworkers who gave Michael their all. He will be terribly missed.
According to a Merseyside Police spokesman, investigations were still underway and the force was cooperating with the Health and Safety Executive. According to the force, a post-mortem examination was scheduled for this Wednesday in order to determine the cause of death.
