I’ll leave if he’s not fired.” Due to their major miscommunication, a key player for the Kristaps Porzingis team has stated he will leave the team if his colleague is not dismissed.
According to ESPN on Monday, the lady who is accusing NBA player Kristaps Porzingis of sexual assault attempted to “mediate in private” with the New York Knicks for the $68,000 payment she claims he promised her following the alleged assault.
The 29-year-old allegedly informed the Knicks that he had promised to sign a contract paying her $68,000 after Porzingis allegedly assaulted her during an “extremely aggressive encounter” in February 2018.
The woman claimed that she didn’t want to trouble Porzingis because she was a “Knicks fan,” but she did want the money and a pair of sandals that she had supposedly left at the apartment. According to text messages obtained by ESPN, the woman apparently persisted in wanting to have a close relationship with Porzingis even after the alleged assault. After a while, the Knicks let the woman go.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Kansas City Chiefs are closing in on a deal that would send cornerback L’Jarius Sneed to the Titans. The Super Bowl winners are anticipated to receive a third-round pick in 2025 in exchange for a swap of their seventh-round pick in 2024.
The details of the agreement are unknown, but according to ESPN, Sneed will become one of the highest-paid cornerbacks in NFL history once the contract is finalized after he passes his physical.
The deal will save the Chiefs $19.8 million against their salary cap. In 2020, the 27-year-old Sneed was selected in the fourth round. Veteran cornerback Chidobe Awuzie has already signed a three-year, $36 million contract with the Titans, so he and Sneed will develop into outside cornerbacks for the Titans.
Together with them, the Titans have added wide receiver Calvin Ridley, running back Tony Pollard, linebacker Kenneth Murray, wide receiver Lloyd Cushenberry, and quarterback Saahdiq Charles.
