Head Coach Seems Frighteningly Unwell in New Interview Ahead of Planned players Return This Summer

In a recent interview, the head coach appeared frighteningly ill before the players’ anticipated return this summer. Despite their lack of success in their last seven Championship games, Valerien Ismael, the head coach of Watford, feels he still has the support of the club board.

Prior to their visit to Millwall on Saturday, the Hornets were 11th in the table, 11 points outside of the play-off spots.

During the week, Ismael met as normal with key club officials.

“We are all on board; we still believe in our way, we know, but it was clear everyone was not happy with the performances,” he stated.

Since this is not what we want to see, it is normal to talk about how you feel.

“We spoke about the situation, the solution, and the next step.”

Watch the entire interview between BBC Three Counties and Valerien Ismael. There have been three head coaches for Radio Watford in each of the last two seasons.

Nonetheless, the team has shown patience with the former West Bromwich Albion and Barnsley manager, who was hired in May of last year and inked a contract extension in October.

With four points from their first two games, Ismael’s team has not finished better than eighth.

Their sole victory since January 20 came against Rotherham United, the bottom team, and they lost at home to Huddersfield Town on Saturday for their sixth loss of the season.

After just 27 minutes, Ismael made two substitutes, and even though Emmanuel Dennis later gave them the lead, the Terriers rallied for three points.

“When a team performs like that, it is always difficult for any manager, but now the focus is on the next game,” Ismael stated.

“We reorganize and tweak a lot of things to make sure we can compete and, more importantly, perform far better than we did the previous week. We know we can do it better.

“I am familiar with my guys and their abilities. In the final 12 games of the season, we must witness this.”
