Heartbreak: The head coach of Wolverhamton Wanderers, Gary O’Neil, has announced his departure for the comingback of…
O’Neil has agreed to a three-year contract at Molineux, and sporting director Matt Hobbs expressed his excitement about the signing in a statement posted on the team’s official website.
“We are thrilled to have Gary join the team. He is a young, extremely driven coach who upholds strong morals. Everyone he has worked with thinks highly of him, and we are eager to see what we can accomplish at Wolves together.
“Our players have proven themselves in the preseason, and I have faith that Gary and his staff will succeed in developing them further and coaching this group.
“Everyone at Wolves is excited to welcome Gary, to give him all of their support, and to work together to help the club continue to move forward as a team.”
O’Neil just experienced an incredibly successful time leading Bournemouth to safety in their first season back in the Premier League. At the end of the 2022–2023 season, despite leaving Rayo Vallecano as manager, the Cherries decided to cut O’Neil’s contract in favor of hiring Andoni Iraola.
Wolverhampton Wanderers, a Premier League team, announced on Wednesday that Gary O’Neil has taken on the position of head coach for a period of three years.
O’Neil, a former manager of Bournemouth, has taken over in the wake of Julen Lopetegui, who resigned from his post just days before the start of the new Premier League season.
