The former Leicester City player Ben Chilwell revealed to TNT Sports how he and his teammates decided to pay tribute to the late owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha after his passing in October 2018.
Following the team’s 1-1 Premier League tie with West Ham, the Foxes owner and four other people perished in a helicopter crash at King Power Stadium on October 27, 2018. The aircraft spun out of control and landed outside the ground.
Alongside his assistants, 33-year-old Nusara Suknamai and 60-year-old Kavenporn Punpare, both passed away. Also slain were 53-year-old pilot Eric Swaffer and 46-year-old Izabela Roza Lechowicz, his girlfriend.
Everyone associated with Leicester City was devastated by the occurrence; Srivaddhanaprabha had changed the club’s fortunes since purchasing it for £39 million in 2010.
The Foxes, who began the season as 5,000/1 outsiders, won the Premier League in 2016 when he was the owner.
