The 43-year-old, who currently ranks 18th in England’s second division, was stripped of his duties on Monday night.

Martin Paterson, the head coach’s assistant, has also departed effective immediately. For the foreseeable future, Alan Sheehan will serve as the temporary head coach.

“On behalf of the board and the whole club, I wish Michael and Martin all the best in their future endeavors. I know that he will succeed in his next opportunity.”

Russell Martin left for Southampton in June of this year, and Duff took his place at Swansea.
