In a touching Instagram message on Tuesday, Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard said goodbye to supporters and thanked them for their support over the years.
Shepard posted on social media, saying, “Forever grateful to the New York Giants organization, past and present teammates, and the incredible fan base for their unwavering love and support over the past 8 years.”

My second home, New Jersey, will always have a particular place in my heart. I appreciate how you welcomed me with open arms and gave me a sense of family. “A giant once, always a giant!”

The 30-year-old’s game on Sunday was probably his last with the Giants, though he hasn’t declared his retirement.

Shepard, the player selected with the 40th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, was the last player announced prior to kickoff and was present on the field for the coin toss.

He also moved up to fifth place in Giants history on the all-time receptions chart during the game, surpassing Jeremy Shockey with 372.

The audience gave him another hearty round of applause.
