Breaking: I’m shocked to learn that an iconic Indianapolis player has passed away.
According to a statement from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) early on Saturday morning, the shooting occurred at a location in Indianapolis, Indiana, on the 800 block of Broad Ripple Avenue shortly after one in the morning. Officers from the IMPD were working in the area when they heard gunfire coming from a nearby business.
According to IMPD, “five adult male victims with injuries consistent with gunshot wound(s) were located by officers when they arrived.” “Those casualties received first aid from those cops there. Shortly after, Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived and took the wounded to nearby hospitals.
After being shot during the same incident, one male victim was declared dead by medical staff upon their arrival, while another male victim managed to drive himself to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to the authorities.
Detectives from the IMPD’s homicide and aggravated assault units arrived at the scene to start the investigation, according to the police. “To identify and gather potential forensic evidence, the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded.”
The one male victim’s precise mode of death and cause of death will be ascertained by the Marion County Coroner’s Office, which is now providing assistance in this case. As of this now, it is unknown how the other five victims are doing.
Although the man’s identity has not yet been made public, the coroner’s office stated that they will do so as soon as they have notified the man’s next of kin.
As of right now, there are no suspects in custody, and the investigation is still continuing.
The IMPD Homicide Office’s number to report any information concerning this occurrence is 317.327.3475. As an alternative, individuals can report an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317.262.8477, which may result in a reward of up to $1,000 if the information leads to a criminal arrest.
