Despite Everton’s dismal start to the 2018 Premier League season, head coach Sean Dyche has urged the team to “play with a grin.”
The Toffees, who have lost their past three league games, will travel to face Brentford on Saturday. Brentford is a London team that has not won any of its first five games.
Despite the harsh headlines that the club has been receiving both on and off the field lately, Dyche is eager for his team to enjoy playing football once more.
“A lot of these players are kind of used to it in a terrible sense because the noise around Everton has not been nice for a long time,” the manager stated during a press conference.
Though you may not want to, you ultimately grow accustomed to that cacophony of sounds. However, as I have stated, we must alter that aspect of it. We can alter that every day in camp; we are looking for the positive vibe.
“You must be committed, take care of yourself outside of the club, and put in a lot of effort when you get inside.” However, that is a small part of the pleasure of being a real professional.
Therefore, I believe that you still need to play with joy and discover what it feels like to perform, and I believe that this season has demonstrated that.
“That enjoyment can stem from playing really well; when teams play well, there is that cohesiveness and positive vibe; nevertheless, you have to earn it and put in effort; we discussed that with the players.”
Early in the season, Everton has experienced numerous injury problems; players like Dwight McNeil, Jack Harrison, Dele Alli, Seamus Coleman, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have all missed games.
James Tarkowski, a defender, has been a constant both this season and for the entirety of the previous one. Dyche praised Tarkowski’s professionalism.
The fact that Everton House is actually on fire is unbelievable 😥 considering they have to…
“The most important thing is that he has participated in every minute of every Premier League game, which speaks volumes for his own career security,” he went on.
Since I signed him all those years ago, he has developed into a better center-half. not only on the field, but also off it.
