Brighton has revealed that Sam Jewell, their head of recruitment, has resigned from his position after turning down a Chelsea offer.

With Jewell deciding to join Mauricio Pochettino’s team, Ashworth’s transfer from Newcastle United to the Red Devils is already having a ripple effect around the Premier League.

In other news, Ashworth’s replacement at Newcastle is supposedly being considered by Richard Hughes, the technical director of Bournemouth.

Jewell will join Chelsea in November after completing his notice term on the south coast, according to a report from David Ornstein.

After Ornstein’s findings, Brighton released a statement soon away.

Jewell will join Chelsea in November after completing his notice term on the south coast, according to a report from David Ornstein.

After Ornstein’s findings, Brighton released a statement soon away.

The club released a statement saying, “Sam Jewell has accepted a new post with Chelsea FC.”

Sam has officially started his gardening leave. We appreciate his many years of dedication to our club.

“Sam’s responsibilities will be taken on by Mike Cave, assistant technical director, with assistance from George Holmes, scouting and intelligence manager,” effective immediately.

Jewell, who turned down Rangers in October of last year, will now follow Paul Winstanley, the player he replaced at the Amex, 16 months after Chelsea acquired him.

According to Ornstein, Jewell is “resigning” to take on “a senior worldwide job across Chelsea’s owners’ multi-club model” and will answer to co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Winstanley, under whom he had previously served.

Many Brighton residents have moved to Chelsea since Todd Boehly took charge in 2022.

Robert Sanchez, Marc Cucurella, and Moises Caicedo are three athletes who have moved from the south coast to London.

Graham Potter’s appointment as manager in September 2022 will open the floodgates for Jewell, who will become the eleventh player to join Chelsea from Brighton in the previous two years.

During his stint at Brighton, the son of former Premier League manager Paul Jewell assisted in the signings of Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister.
