Josh Allen, an outside linebacker, is scheduled to become a free agency in March. The Jacksonville Jaguars have to be working quickly to make sure he receives an extension as soon as feasible. That’s untrue, though, as they haven’t started contract talks yet. Trent Baalke, the general manager, doesn’t seem very concerned, but Allen and his delegates are not happy. Not even close.

During his post-season press conference, Baalke informed the local media that Allen would be sticking with the team. He replied that they haven’t yet sat at the table when he inquired about the extent of their conversations. According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Allen’s camp was unhappy to learn of Baalke’s comments.

Allen, a first-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft, feels the Jaguars should give him an extension, no matter what. He and his agents are prepared to negotiate a deal, but Baalke hasn’t shown the same initiative, which has angered them. Allen’s camp was not thrilled that “Baalke would take time to talk to the media” before making time to discuss Allen with Allen or his representative, according to Florio.
