Emanuel Reynoso, the star of Minnesota United who was suspended and absent, has returned to his home state, the team stated on Saturday.

The two-time MLS All-Star is still unavailable for all team activities until further notice, according to a statement from the Loons, “as he works toward reintegration with the club.”

Major League Soccer suspended Reynoso without pay in February after he missed practice. Late in the previous season, he inked a new deal that was supposed to keep him with the Loons through 2026.

Despite teammates reporting to the team’s training facility in Blaine early in January, he chose to stay at home in Argentina due to what the club only described as “personal matters.”

“I haven’t really thought about that,” Loons coach Adrian Heath remarked following his team’s 3-2 setback in Vancouver on Saturday night. “Obviously, he’s back here. Over the weekend, we’ll talk and see how he’s doing, and then we can talk about that.” I’m dealing with much too many other issues.

Defender DJ Taylor continued, saying, “Obviously, we heard the news. However, I believe the boys and I were all preoccupied with ourselves and our activities. Reynoso has had to sit out this game. Our team was all that was on our minds. We’ll talk about it when we see Reynoso, whenever we see her. Most of us, I believe, were merely preoccupied with tonight’s game.”

Without him, the Loons had a 3-4-3 record at the beginning of the season, 0-3 at home at Allianz Field, and 3-3 away from home after Saturday’s defeat.
