Regretfully, a crucial member of the West Ham United team was experiencing difficulty recuperating from a potentially fatal injury.

The Hammers manager disclosed on Thursday, March 7, through Roshane Thomas, that the Italian international “felt his groin” during Thursday’s 1-0 Europa League loss to Freiburg.

When deciding whether to commit to the 29-year-old left-back for the match against the Clarets at the London Stadium, the Scotsman said he would “need to see how he is.”

Emerson would result in a defeat for Burnley and West Ham.
If West Ham were unable to use Emerson in the match against Burnley, it would be a loss as they attempt to win three games in a row in the Premier League.

Hearing that the left-back felt that he had matured is not shocking, considering how many games he has played for us this season.

That’s partly due to Aaron Cresswell’s injury struggles, but it’s also obvious that Moyes no longer views him as an entirely dependable alternative.

This is the greatest game to start Emerson against the struggling Clarets, but if he is cleared to play, it might still be a smart idea to start his 34-year-old teammate.

The manager of the Hammers might view the game as a chance to give more of the bench players a chance to participate, giving some first-team players a break before next week’s second leg against Freiburg.
