It is sad to hear that Leeds United supporters are not thrilled with the head coach’s choice for the captain.

The Owls are still without Josh Windass as they attempt to resolve a slew of injuries to the important attacker, but the biggest pre-match worry for supporters was their captain leaving the game at halftime on Tuesday against Plymouth Argyle.

In his pre-game press conference, Rohl seemed to entirely soothe those worries, downplaying them at the moment.

“We had a lot of guys available this week, which is excellent because it allows us to add some new players. Being mentally and physically prepared is really beneficial, especially when facing a team like Leeds.

“Leeds also played on Tuesday, so we played on Tuesday and had just two days off in between.” In an ideal world, we would start the proper players and, in the event that the game is close, have the correct guys on the bench. Then everything is conceivable.”

Although Windass’s issues are more exasperating, Rohl anticipates having him back when the team returns from its Easter international break.

“At the moment there’s no chance (of him playing),” confirmed the manager. “We know Josh is having some small injuries again and again and they are really building up so hopefully we have him available after the international break for the last games.

“He consistently puts forth a lot of effort with the squad. He is really attractive, hungry, and eager to join the squad, but for now he needs to focus on strengthening himself.”
