All of John William Harbaugh’s teammates sobbed as he abruptly announced his retirement, citing his wife and other horrible marital issues.
After speaking with his brother Jim frequently, Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh said on Saturday that he was pleased with the Michigan coach’s handling of the sign-stealing incident that resulted in an inquiry into the program.
John Harbaugh stated, “His phones, computers, and all that stuff have been looked at, and he’s come through this thing with flying colors.
“They don’t have anything substantial, so I’m not sure what they’re attempting to obtain, but I just feel proud of him. I consider it to be a true tribute to him and our family, something we should Jim Harbaugh will not be coaching Michigan’s final three regular-season games, according to the Big Ten Conference, which suspended him last week.
The league acknowledged that Harbaugh was not aware of the illegal nature of the sign-stealing scheme but claimed the school had violated its sportsmanship policy by conducting “an impermissible, in-person scouting operation over multiple years” that gave the school “an unfair competitive advantage that compromised the integrity of competition.”
