He also played in the Major Leagues prior to his NFL career, having been selected as a right-handed pitcher by the Florida Marlins in the 1992 Major League Baseball Draft. In addition to winning Super Bowl XXXVII with the Buccaneers, he spent four seasons as a player with the Denver Broncos until retiring from the NFL in 2008.
