Unbelievable: Due to a setback, the head coach of Ajax Amsterdam announced her departure from the team.

It’s challenging to replace a manager who has succeeded. Manchester United has occasionally found it impossible, leaving big shoes to fill in Sir Alex Ferguson’s absence.

After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, and Fergie retired, Erik ten Hag has been appointed as United’s fifth permanent manager.

At last, it appears that United has made the right choice; however, Ajax has lost their ideal manager in the process.

Alfred Schreuder, Ten Hag’s replacement, has not been able to duplicate his success at Ajax, where Ten Hag had the greatest win percentage in twenty years.

Football League of the Netherlands: “Ajax Amsterdam vs FC Volendam”

Ajax, who had hired Alfred Schreuder as Ten Hag’s replacement only months prior, announced in a statement that they had fired the manager.

The final straw was Thursday night’s 1-1 home draw against Volendam, who were in 16th place.

A harsh statement read, “Ajax has immediately suspended Alfred Schreuder,” on the team’s website. The trainer’s contract will now end immediately, having been valid until June 30, 2024.

The team’s lack of progress and the numerous points lost were the primary factors in this decision.

“The club management is no longer optimistic about future collaboration. Additionally, the working relationship with assistant coach Matthias Kaltenbach will end.

With this declaration, Schreuder lost the trust of both his superiors and the Ajax players, so there was no going back.

Despite winning just nine of their 18 games, Ajax is currently ranked fifth in the Eredivisie.

They have given up 20 goals, which is more than Ten Hag’s Ajax gave up in 34 games as they won the league the previous year.

Ten Hag was always a difficult act to follow and contributed to Ajax’s downfall as well as making Schreuder’s job more difficult.

Sebastien Haller signed with Borussia Dortmund, Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui signed with Bayern Munich, and Antony and Lisandro Martinez signed with United.

Regarding Schreuder, he might feel remorse for making fun of United for not playing Champions League football while Antony is still being pursued. He has forced Ajax into the Europa League, and he won’t even have managerial responsibility for it.
