“I’ll leave if he’s not fired.” Due to their major miscommunication, a key player for the Boston PWHL has stated he will leave the team if his colleague is not dismissed.

Aerin Frankel recorded her first career shutout, and Theresa Schafzahl and Gigi Marvin each scored a goal as Boston defeated host Minnesota 2-0 on Sunday in Professional Women’s Hockey League play.

Boston (6-4-2-0) has won two straight after losing two straight last week to New York and Ottawa. Frankel, who recorded a career-high 41 saves, won on Wednesday against Ottawa and Minnesota with 70 saves and one goal allowed.

Halfway through the second, Schafzahl opened the score. With 11:21 remaining in the frame, Jamie Lee Rattray pushed a pass forward to Susanna Tapani, who then dropped it to Schafzahl for the backhand finish.

In the final seconds at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, Marvin scored her first goal of the game, an empty-netter, to make it 2-0.

Minnesota (5-4-3-0) has only managed one goal in their past two losses, which included a 2-1 loss to Montreal on Sunday.

On Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET, Minnesota plays host to Toronto in Minneapolis; on Saturday at 4 p.m., Boston plays host to Montreal. CBCSports.ca, the CBC Sports app, and CBC Gem will all feature live coverage of both games.
