The Tennessee Titans captain, Ryan Tannehill, has announced his retirement

The Tennessee Titans announced on Monday which players will lead the team as captains in 2022.

Ryan Tannehill, the quarterback, running back Derrick Henry, center Ben Jones, safety Kevin Byard, defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, and outside linebacker Ola Adeniyi are the six players.

Tennessee appointed one additional captain this year, compared to five in 2021. Jones and Adeniyi are the newest players; last season’s captains were Byard, Henry, Tannehill, and Simmons.

Adeniyi has never before been named a captain for the Titans. In 2019, Jones was a captain. In 2021, Simmons was elected captain for the first time.

Byard holds the longest current streak of being named a captain, having held the position for each of the previous three campaigns, followed by Henry and Tannehill.

The Titans are currently getting ready for their first game against the New York Giants at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
