Heartbreak: Mike Vábel’s wife has confirmed yet another heinous act by the legendary Tennesse Tixans player, and…
According to a friend, Mike Vabels was unknown to the wife of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair until her 20-year-old husband was discovered dead next to her on July 4.
Police haven’t verified that Kazemi was the shooter, but the medical examiner believes Mike Vabel’s four gunshot wounds were probably the result of a murder-suicide.
A former employee of Mechelle McNair’s charity foundation, Mike Mu, claimed Mechelle “didn’t know who this girl is.”
Mechelle McNair has not spoken in public since the shooting, but those close to her have said that she is extremely distressed. After the shooting, Agent Bus Cook reported that McNair’s wife was “in and out” of it.
Reporters were informed by Kazemi’s family that the woman was getting ready to sell her furniture and move in with the former quarterback because she was so sure that McNair, his 12-year-old wife, was divorcing her.
For the Nashville memorial service on Thursday night, Mu is in charge of media inquiries. In Mississippi, a funeral service is scheduled for this Saturday.
Since their days playing football together at Alcorn State, the close friend who called 911 to report McNair’s death has defended his friend, according to The Tennessean. The McNairs’ Nashville home was listed for sale because they were searching for a new residence, according to Robert Gaddy, who did not immediately respond to a text message sent to his cell phone by The Associated Press on Wednesday.
“People ought to stop discussing topics they are ignorant of. Since everything has happened, everyone is attempting to paint a particular picture, and they need to talk about what they know. Mac never told me that he was going to get a divorce,” Gaddy told the newspaper.
The stadium where the four-time Pro Bowl quarterback spent the majority of his career playing was the site of a memorial service on Wednesday. Fans were able to view video highlights of McNair’s 13-year NFL career, view pictures of the quarterback, and write messages in a book that would be sent to the quarterback’s family when the Tennessee Titans opened LP Field.
Two of the four sons of McNair are raised by Mechelle, who married him in 1997. She attended Alcorn State with McNair when they were both students, but she also studied nursing in Nashville and worked as a nurse while he was a Titan.
Mechelle McNair took care of her husband’s multiple wounds at home, changing bandages and even assisting with IV fluids when her husband required antibiotics in 2001 due to an infection that had developed following shoulder surgery.
