Just in: Mike Vrabel has learned of the horrific accident that claimed the life of one of his valuable players.
Pittsburgh (AP) — Treylon Burks, a wide receiver for the Tennessee Titans, was carted off the field with an injury in the closing minutes of Thursday night’s game against Pittsburgh.
Burks attempted a leaping fourth-down grab down the left sideline, but he was unable to catch the ball. He seemed to be unconscious after landing hard outside of bounds.
The 18th overall selection in the 2022 draft, Burks, was treated by medical personnel from both teams. On the turf of Acrisure Stadium, players from both teams knelt beside him as his face mask was severed and he was strapped onto a spinal board. As he was loaded onto the cart, Burks seemed to be able to wiggle his toes.
Burks, who caught two passes for 23 yards, was described by Tennessee head coach Mike Vrabel as “alert” and “moving” in the locker room following the Titans’ 20-16 loss to Pittsburgh.

According to an AP source, the Chiefs are cutting wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to free up salary cap space.
According to Vrabel, “it’s probably better than how it looked.”
As a rookie in Philadelphia, Burks was knocked unconscious during a touchdown reception during a blowout loss to the Eagles. This incident resulted in a concussion.
Will Levis, a rookie quarterback for the Titans, described the sequence as frightening for a variety of reasons.
“It’s a frightening aspect of the game when someone is carted off the field and you just pretend it never happened,” the player remarked. However, that is football. We just have to accept that as a part of the game.
During the game, Burks was the second player to be carted off. After being struck low by teammate Keanu Neal as they both attempted to make a tackle, Steelers linebacker Cole Holcomb had to leave the game in the first half due to a left leg injury.
