It’s unbelievable: A very loyal Seahawks player has announced his sudden retirement, sending a powerful statement and bidding the team and supporters a heartfelt farewell.
We could name-check former Seahawks running backs all day. Over the years, Seattle has produced a huge number of outstanding players. However, not all of them have been as successful as Shaun Alexander and Marshawn Lynch. The group has also produced a number of underappreciated rushers who, despite not making the Pro Bowl, ran hard and won over fans.
Former Seahawks running back Mike Davis is a prime example; he just announced his retirement from the NFL in a birthday message on Elon’s social media platform.
As I reflect on my NFL career and my 31st birthday, I am grateful to be a part of a brotherhood. I’ve been able to create a lot of friends and memories because to this game. I’m appreciative to every NFL organization. Having stated that, I’m retiring!
In the 2015 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected Davis in the fourth round, which is how he initially entered the league. After two years in San Francisco, he became a member of the Seahawks in 2017. Over the course of the following two seasons, Davis ended up playing 21 games in Seattle before moving on to play for a number of other clubs. This previous season, he was not in the league.
Davis returned later and expressed gratitude to everyone for their love.
I appreciate all of the love I’ve received. To be honest, I didn’t anticipate receiving this much affection. Happy
In total, Davis played in 87 games for six different teams, totaling 14 touchdowns and just over 2,000 running yards.
