Don Deal: The Baltimore Ravens are satisfied to officially welcome a free agent who has agreed to sign a five-year contract

Once more, it’s that time of year. Throughout the offseason, we will keep you updated on all noteworthy moves made by the Baltimore Ravens using our free-agency tracker.

June 5th
Signing Laquon Treadwell as a wide receiver for a year
Why this matters Treadwell joins Odell Beckham Jr., Nelson Agholor, rookie first-round pick Zay Flowers, and other newcomers in the Ravens’ wide receiver room as part of their offseason makeover. However, it’s far from certain that Treadwell, 27, will make the squad.

Treadwell was drafted by Minnesota in the first round in 2016, but since leaving the Vikings after the 2019 season, he has been a journeyman in the NFL. He has played for the Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, Arizona Cardinals, and New England Patriots.

Last season, he saw action in six games with the Seahawks and recorded six receptions for 42 yards. He will face competition for a reserve receiving spot in Baltimore from players like Andy Isabella, Tylan Wallace, and James Proche II.

He provides the Ravens with another seasoned player for training camp and the preseason, if nothing else. Head coach John Harbaugh is likely to restrict Beckham and Bateman’s summer reps because they are both recovering from serious injuries.

Treadwell will play for the Ravens for the fourth time in as many seasons. played for Seattle last year, catching six balls for 42 yards.

That was followed by assignments in Jacksonville (2021), Atlanta (2020), and Minnesota (2016–19). P7Ha9fEoiY can be found here.

Next up: Eric DeCosta, the general manager, is quick to remind everyone that the team is always trying to bolster the roster.

That has been demonstrated by this offseason. Every few weeks, it seems like Baltimore brings on another veteran to bolster the depth at a position.

Next up, who? An experienced running back, cornerback, and edge rusher are still needed by the Ravens. They have to make some moves to make room on their roster because it is full.
