Unfortunately, the head coach of the New Jersey Devils officially decided to terminate his contract due to…

As much emphasis as the New Jersey Devils place on what occurs on the ice, the person in charge off the rink has a significant influence on the team’s chances of success.

There were some notable additions to the bench and some notable deletions after a busy summer with the roster. Will these changes be more advantageous to the Devils? This section of the multi-part preview focuses on the ownership, management, and coaching staff of the New Jersey Devils in 2022–2023.

Josh Harris and David Blitzer jointly own several businesses, including HSBE, the parent company of the Devils. The Prudential Center, the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, the NBA G League’s Delaware Blue Coats, the Utica Comets, and the Devils.

Furthermore, although not officially affiliated with HSBE, Harris and Blitzer hold a minority stake in the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers and the Premier League’s Crystal Palace FC in England.

Harris and/or Blitzer own shares in a number of other teams, including the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball, Real Salt Lake of Major League Baseball, the Stcranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, a AAA affiliate of the New York Yankees, FC Augsburg of the Bundesliga in Germany, ADO Den Haag of the Keuken Kampioen Divisie in the Netherlands (two levels below), AD Alcorcon of the Primera Division RFEF (third tier) in Spain, and SK Beveren of the Jupiler Pro League in Belgium (second tier in Belgium).

Of course In other words, just to own stock in all of these clubs, Harris and Blitzer—Harris is a multibillionaire, for example—are incredibly wealthy and sports fans.

Given this, one could counter that Harris and Blitzer might not be considering the Devils all the time. This is not always a bad thing. Owners who are directly involved but may not be familiar with the sport are generally detrimental to the team’s operations.

(Aside from that, it can be linked to a lot of franchise runs without postseason play.) It is a great way to manage the team if an owner, or group of owners, decides to just provide the funds and equipment and appoints a person with greater expertise in the sport to be in charge. perhaps superior to a more proactive strategy. I would say that Harris and Blitzer have gone in this direction.
