Matt LaFleur discovered heartbreaking news about his pregnant wife.

Over the years, Matt LaFleur has guided the Green Bay Packers to some admirable victories, but few have been as thrilling as this one.

The Packers were unable to overcome their own obstacles offensively. They were shut out for the first three quarters of Sunday’s game after blowing a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter of the previous week. The Packers were falling apart in their home opener, trailing 17 to 0.

This young squad, though, never gave up. The Packers stunned the Saints and won a vital game by overturning a 17-point deficit thanks to a strong defensive effort and some Jordan Love magic.

It makes sense that LaFleur was upset right after the game.

Matt LaFleur sheds tears during the post-game interview following the Packers’ thrilling victory.
After the game, LaFleur spoke with Larry McCarren, who found it difficult to control his emotions following such a dramatic victory.

“I think I’m currently dreaming. I have nothing but praise for the guys in that locker room. Trying not to get too worked up about it,” LaFleur remarked, his voice cracking slightly. “The fortitude they exhibited. Their heart was revealed. That’s the main point of it all, exactly.

And blaming him is difficult. As a fan, it was challenging enough to watch. Hope, belief, and joy swiftly replaced the disappointment and frustration as the Packers pulled off the most incredible comeback in the fourth quarter.

“Almost everything is a blur. Regarding the fourth quarter, LaFleur stated, “It was definitely not how we scripted or designed it.”

A win like this is preferable to a landslide in many ways, especially with this team’s youth and inexperience. They had to struggle and never surrender. When the game was on the line, they had to step up. All those things they did.

LaFleur thinks it will benefit his inexperienced Packers squad.

“Oh, without a doubt. Just the attitude of ‘never say die’. I have never before participated in a game like that. Gotta give a ton of credit to our players, our coaching staff, and everyone else involved in this, for just remaining resilient as well,” LaFleur remarked.

What a show. What a victory. And Thursday night, when they play the Detroit Lions, they get to repeat the entire process.
