Another terrible news hit the Foxes ahead of clash with Leeds United as Enzo Maresca has sorrowfully announced…

This Friday night, one of Leicester City‘s most important games of the 2023–24 Championship season takes place against Leeds United.

The Foxes’ advantage over the pursuing group is currently just nine points after they lost just their fifth game of the season on Saturday against Middlesbrough. With Leeds winning all eight of their league games thus far in 2024, there is a lot riding on Leicester’s trip to Elland Road.

A win would be a major declaration of intent for Enzo Maresca’s team in their pursuit of instant promotion back to the Premier League; a loss would reduce City’s lead at the top to six points.

Thankfully, there isn’t much worry in the treatment room for Leicester and Maresca. After recovering from an injury last week, Marc Albrighton made his comeback against Middlesbrough, starting from the bench. Meanwhile, Kelechi Iheanacho might be chosen in the matchday squad.

It is anticipated that Wilfred Ndidi won’t be able to play again until early April. The Nigerian midfield player was a major contributor to Leicester’s explosive season opening triumph against Cardiff on the road in December, but he hasn’t appeared since.

Ben Nelson, the defender, had to miss Saturday’s match because he was kicked almost two weeks ago against Watford. Whether the 19-year-old will be able to make the trek to Elland Road is still up in the air.

With Ndidi out of the picture, Maresca may only be able to use 22 outfield players; this means that certain players will have to sit out the entire season.

He went on, “The good thing is that you have a choice.” The challenging part is that a few of them won’t make the squad or the first 11. As a manager, that is never a smart idea to do. However, accepting that is not beneficial for them. It is what it is, really.
