The Suns have officially announced the trade of David Roddy and Royce O’Neale.
It became official on Thursday afternoon when the Suns announced the deal.
In the three-team trade, the Phoenix Suns acquired forwards David Roddy from the Memphis Grizzlies and Royce O’Neale from the Brooklyn Nets.
The Suns sent guard Jordan Goodwin, forward Keita Bates-Diop, and three future second-round picks to the Nets in exchange for forward Yuta Watanabe, forward Chimezie Metu, and a 2026 first-round pick swap to the Grizzlies.
James Jones, President of Basketball Operations and General Manager of the Suns, stated, “Royce and David both bring a competitive mindset and defensive intensity that improves our team as we continue our drive to win an NBA championship.
“”Royce is a very smart and disruptive defender who can play multiple positions. He also gives our team a lot of playoff experience and consistent three-point shooting. Every time David takes the court, his extraordinary physicality and strength exude enthusiasm.
