The baltimore head coach’s contract was terminated, which was such heartbreaking news
The Baltimore Ravens have reportedly received a trade request from Lamar Jackson, who stated on Monday that the team “has not been interested in meeting my value.”
The standout quarterback said in a string of tweets that, as of March 2, he had requested a trade. The Ravens placed Jackson on the nonexclusive franchise tag on March 7 and stated that they remained optimistic about reaching a long-term agreement with him.
Jackson posted on Twitter, saying, “As of March 2nd, I requested a trade from the Ravens organization for which the Ravens have not been interested in meeting my value.” “Anybody who has ever met me or spent time with me knows how much I love football, and my goal is to help a team win the Super Bowl.”
To join a new team, Jackson might not require a trade. He is able to bargain with other clubs thanks to the nonexclusive franchise tag. But it also gives Baltimore an opportunity to match whatever deal he strikes. Making the trade request public could be an attempt to get the Ravens to match a different team’s offer, or it could be an effort to generate more interest from other teams by making it clear that he wants to leave Baltimore.
The team that Jackson signs a deal with would owe Baltimore two first-round draft picks if the Ravens and that team don’t match.
John Harbaugh, the coach of the Ravens, spoke at length about Jackson on Monday during the league’s owners meetings in Phoenix.
“I’m not aware of the tweet. That’s a continuous process, according to Harbaugh. Like everyone else here, I’m keeping a close eye on it and hoping for a resolution. I’m thrilled because I can’t stop thinking about Lamar as our quarterback. Our offensive strategy is centered on that notion.
The NFL MVP for 2019 was Jackson. He’s one of the main players in the game because of his passing and running skills. He is already among the six quarterbacks in NFL history, at age 25, to have accumulated 10,000 passing yards and 4,000 rushing yards.
Due to injuries sustained at the end of the previous two seasons, Jackson has not helped the Ravens advance to the AFC championship game. There will be a new coordinator for him if he stays in Baltimore. After the 2018 season, Todd Monken of Georgia was hired by the Ravens to fill that role.
According to Harbaugh, Jackson will start for Baltimore as the quarterback in the upcoming campaign.
Without a doubt, you must plan for every eventuality, according to Harbaugh. However, I’m very enraged about Lamar Jackson. Lamar Jackson is a fantastic player, after all. Lamar returned last year in excellent form. He is eager to play. That seems like the Lamar I want to see. I’m eager to resume working outside, and I have no doubt that it will happen.
Harding made an effort to maintain optimism regarding Jackson’s chances of coming back. It could be an awkward situation if Jackson returns to play this season on Baltimore’s $32.4 million franchise tag; the coach will have his work cut out trying to allay any animosity.
Regarding the relationships, how we feel about Lamar, and how we want to develop our team, Harbaugh stated, “nothing’s changed.”
Jackson doesn’t have a representative. The NFL management council stated in a memo distributed to teams last week and obtained by The Associated Press that an individual who is not an NFLPA-certified agent may be contacting clubs and trying to convince them to negotiate with Jackson. The memo served as a reminder to teams that, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, an offer sheet can only be discussed with a player who is representing themselves.
According to Jackson’s tweets, the individual in question never made an attempt to negotiate on his behalf.
