Unbelievable: A key member of the Eagles who had an affair with a teammate’s wife has been…

After the Philadelphia Eagles’ season-ending loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, there have been rumors that Jason Kelce has announced his retirement. Kelce responded to these rumors on his podcast on Wednesday, saying, “In the future, there will be something said.”

After the Eagles’ 32-9 wild-card playoff loss to the Bucs, Kelce—who is regarded as one of the best centers in the NFL—allegedly announced to his teammates in the locker room that he was retiring, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on X.

The news was also reported by the Associated Press and Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.

The future Hall of Fame tight end Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs revealed that he has no set retirement plans while speaking on his “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with his younger brother.

“I’m not sure how the team will perform the following season. Players, coaches,” remarked Kelce. “I simply want to let everyone know how much I value, respect, and love the work and effort they have put into this year. I love everyone in that room, Philadelphia, even though I know the outcome was unacceptable.”

He continued, saying it wasn’t “on purpose” that he hadn’t made his plans for the NFL off-the-shelf.

After a game like that, I just don’t think you’re in a position to really make that decision. I simply don’t. To truly comprehend that choice, there is too much going on and too much emotion in the present. I really am not trying to be dramatic and drag this thing out,” Kelce remarked.

“It’s just something that I think, when it’s time to officially announce what’s happening in the future, it’ll be done in a way that’s definitive and pays respect to a lot of people and individuals that have meant a lot to me and what has led to the career I’ve had,” he stated.

“I don’t believe that being able to do that immediately following a game like that would be appropriate or even accurate. However, something will probably be said in the future,” he remarked.

After the game, according to Kelce, he did speak to the team, but it was only to reiterate his love and faith in his teammates.

He got emotional during the podcast and paused, so his brother gave him some support.

The response was, “Hell yeah, brother,” said Travis Kelce.

“There’s definitely a lot of emotion in the room,” Kelce answered. “I don’t know what the future holds for anybody in that building right now.”

He mentioned that teams that did not make it to the postseason will soon begin exit interviews, during which players meet with the team and typically decide on their plans for the upcoming campaign.

“And we’ll all be on the edge of our seats waiting to see what decision you make, big guy,” said his brother.

Cleveland Heights, Ohio, native Kelce, 36, is the fifth center in NFL history to be selected for at least six All-Pro teams. The Pro Football Hall of Fame is home to the other four players.

He signed a one-year contract to play in the 2023 season, and in March he will become a free agent.

Beyond the field, Kelce was recognized as one of People magazine’s “Sexiest Men Alive” and has landed lucrative marketing contracts, promoting brands like Tide laundry detergent and Campbell’s Soup.
