John Harbaugh, the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, last led his team to the Super Bowl in 2013. He did so by defeating the San Francisco 49ers, who were led by his younger brother Jim at the time. Wife Ingrid Harbaugh and their 11-year-old daughter Alison celebrated on the field when the Ravens defeated the 49ers 34–31.
Ingrid has the difficult task of once again being a highly involved spectator even though the Ravens are 9.5 point favorites to win their playoff game against the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night. Regarding the protracted NFL season, Ingrid stated in 2012, “‘Stressful’ would be the first word.'” For almost the whole six months of the season, it’s really stressful.
But over the last ten years, Ingrid has developed into an informed sports enthusiast—and, of course, a devoted Ravens fan. She once made the remark, “You might want to watch a game with your husband and start to understand it if you want to spend four hours with him on Sunday.”
Although Ingrid has amazing memories of the Ravens and quarterback Joe Flacco winning the Super Bowl, she is a major supporter of Lamar Jackson and her husband’s relationship with the rookie that Baltimore selected with the final selection of the first round in 2018.
“Joe and John were close too,” Ingrid remarked in November to ESPN. But with Lamar, it’s simply on an other level.
It is unquestionably true that Jackson and Harbaugh are tight. The quarterback for the Ravens is a man the coach really admires and respects; if the team advances and wins, the quarterback is a lock to earn this year’s MVP award. The video below features a behind-the-scenes chat between Harbaugh and Jackson that gives fans all the information they need to understand their connection.
