The Celtics have strengthened their roster with the historic signing of two potent new players.

Boston: Today, Nathan Knight, a forward/center, was signed by the Boston Celtics to a two-way deal. The terms of the deal were not revealed in accordance with team policy.

Knight (6-10, 253) has played in 108 games (two starts) with the Minnesota Timberwolves (2022–23) and Atlanta Hawks (2020–21). During his career, he has averaged 7.8 minutes per game, 2.0 rebounds, and 3.7 points while shooting 47.6 percent from the field.

The Syracuse, New York native played four years of college at William & Mary, where he averaged 17.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 125 games. He was named a three-time Lou Henson Mid-Major All-American (2018, 2019, 2020). Knight won the Lou Henson National Player of the Year award during his senior year, given out yearly to the best Division I mid-major player in the country by CollegeInsider.com. In addition, he was chosen as the 2020 CAA Player of the Year and the Basketball Times National Mid-Major Player of the Year.

Knight completed his high school education at Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire, after attending Nottingham High School in Syracuse, New York.

Guard Jay Scrubb has been waived by the Celtics in a related roster move.
