Good news! The president of Houston has declared that every player should…
Houston — The Houston Texans revealed on Wednesday that Jamey Rootes, their longtime president, is quitting the organization.
Rootes has worked for the company for over twenty years.
According to a press release from the team, he will now pursue his interests as a writer, public speaker, consultant, and professor at the University of Houston.
Rootes has been responsible for all of the Texans’ business functions. “He oversaw the team’s efforts to secure stadium-naming rights and sponsorship, coordinated radio and TV broadcasting relationships, engineered the club’s successful ticket and suite sales campaigns, led the creation and launch of the team’s identity, and developed the team’s highly-acclaimed customer service strategy.”
A new president is already being sought after.
Texans Chair and CEO Cal McNair said, “We sincerely appreciate Jamey’s multiple contributions to the Texans franchise over his tenure and look forward to seeing him succeed in his new ventures.” “We are going to build on this foundation going forward, committing boldly and unwaveringly to winning championships, making our fans’ experiences unforgettable, and accomplishing great things for Houston.”
Rootes stated, “I have the McNairs to thank for the amazing blessings of the past 20 years for my family and me.” Serving them in this role for as long as I have has been an honor.
I want to express my gratitude to my teammates for their hard work and devotion to the team; without them, we would not have achieved as many victories.
I also want to express my gratitude to Texans Nation, the greatest group of NFL fans. Your fervent support made every home game sell out, established the best tailgating experience in the NFL, and gave the team a significant homefield advantage. I look forward to supporting our team going forward and will always be a proud Texan.
