Indianapolis: Nearly a month after team officials declared he was recovering from a serious respiratory illness, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay told his fans on Tuesday that he was feeling better and appreciated their support.

The 64-year-old Irsay posted on social media, stating that he was “on the mend.” “Thank you for all of the encouraging messages.”

It was Irsay’s first post since January 8 on X, formerly known as Twitter.

However, Irsay has recently experienced other medical complications in addition to his illness. First responders arrived at Irsay’s house in early December following a 911 call from longtime Colts executive Pete Ward, who expressed concern about Irsay’s possible congestive heart failure.

According to the police report, officers from Carmel, Indiana, a northern suburb of Indianapolis, discovered Irsay breathing, unresponsive, and with a bluish skin tone.

Irsay “had fallen in the bathroom, was moved to his bed, and was cool to the touch,” according to what one officer wrote in his report. Irsay was cool to the touch, breathing agonizingly, and had oxygen in his nose.
