NBC Sports Every game night, Celtics Postgame Live, presented by your New England Ford Dealers, and Celtics Pregame Live, sponsored by TD Bank, will be co-hosted by Boston’s Amina Smith and former NBA Celtics guard Eddie House. Chris Forsberg, the Boston Celtics correspondent for NBC Sports, will also be a contributor to both programs, which offer a mix of news, analysis, interviews, and commentary prior to and following each game.
NBC Sports Play-by-Play commentator Mike Gorman, who is starting his 43rd and final season in this capacity, and analyst Brian Scalabrine, who is starting his ninth full-time season with NBC Sports Boston and played five of his eleven NBA seasons with the Celtics, will once again spearhead Boston’s live-game coverage.
Abby Chin, the sideline reporter for the Boston Celtics on NBC Sports, will also be back and there for every game. This season, Drew Carter will join NBC Sports Boston’s broadcast crew to provide play-by-play commentary for all of the Celtics’ away games, both during the preseason and regular season. With roots in Boston, Carter is originally from Minnesota and has been calling games for ESPN for a number of sports for the past few years.
After 43 years of announcing Boston Celtics games, Mike Gorman’s NBA career will come to an end in the 2023–24 season. The Celtics’ regular-season opener against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden will mark the beginning of his “farewell season.”
A number of on-air and in-arena vignettes during home games; surprise guests in the booth throughout the season; and an in-arena “Mike Gorman Night” at a Celtics home game in April celebrating all of his accomplishments are just a few of the ways that NBC Sports Boston, the Celtics, and the fans will honor him throughout the season. Throughout the season, NBC Sports Boston will also recognize Mike and his legacy with on-air advertisements and social media content.
