The top player for the Indianapolis Colts is officially taking a break due to a serious illness.

Jim Irsay, the owner of the Indianapolis Colts, has stated that he is “on the mend” following reports that he overdosed in December and was discovered cold and unresponsive in his bed.

The 64-year-old Irsay was forced to miss the most recent leg of his band’s world tour in Los Angeles, and the Colts revealed last month that he was receiving treatment for a “severe respiratory illness.”

Irsay acknowledged his progress on social media on Tuesday and thanked supporters for their unwavering support.

Irsay tweeted, “On the mend.” “Thank you for all of the kind and encouraging messages.”

According to police records that TMZ Sports was able to obtain, Irsay is said to have overdosed at his Carmel home early in December.

On December 8, at approximately 4.30 am, Indiana police were reportedly called to the property after someone discovered the billionaire unconscious, gasping for air, and with blue skin tones.

By the time the police arrived, Irsay had apparently been moved to his bed, where he remained breathless, exhibiting ‘a weak pulse and constricted pupils’.

The police documents state that a sternum rub, which puts pressure on the middle region of the chest, was tried and failed to rouse him. Nevertheless, it is believed that Irsay reacted “slightly” to one dose of Narcan, a medication that is frequently used to resuscitate individuals who have overdosed on opiates.

Paramedics arrived and took over life-saving efforts just as police were about to apply a defibrillator to him. He was then taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The police report went on, ‘At this time, it is unknown what Mr. Irsay had ingested prior to our arrival.’ A caregiver gave them a list of the medications he had been taking.

Both ‘overdose’ and ‘overdose/poisoning’ were assigned to the incident.

Later on, the Colts issued a second statement in which they said he was still getting well from a “respiratory illness.”

“We continue to request that Jim and his family’s privacy be respected, and we will not be making any more comments on his personal health.”

It is reported that Irsay overdosed in December at his home in Carmel.

In an interview with Andrea Kremer, Irsay—who hasn’t been in the public eye in weeks, according to ESPN’s Colts reporter Stephen Holder—told her that he had been to rehab fifteen times and had once come dangerously close to overdosing.

He said: “I mixed a lot of drugs that I didn’t know anything about once when I was trying to detox myself.”

“So I start slurring my words all of a sudden.” And then my breathing stops, code blue.

The doctor says, “Jim, you’re one lucky man because I had virtually signed the death certificate” after they revive me.

Since his late father, Robert Irsay, famously moved the Colts to Indianapolis nine years later, after purchasing the team in Baltimore in 1972, the Colts have been owned by the Irsay family.

Before becoming the primary owner of the Colts in 1997 +3, Irsay began working for the team in 1984 while it was owned by his father.

When his father was still the team’s owner, Irsay began working there in 1984. In 1997, he became the team’s majority owner.

Prior to becoming the team’s majority owner in 1997 at the age of 37 following his father’s passing, Irsay began working for the Colts in 1984 while the team was still owned by his father.

He was accused of four felonies in 2014 after being detained for driving while intoxicated and being in possession of a controlled substance.

When police pulled him over in Carmel, Indiana, for driving too erratically, they found him carrying bottles of prescription medication and more than $29,000 in cash.

Eventually, the felony charges were dropped by the prosecution, and Irsay admitted to operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Still, he did check himself into a rehab facility.
