The football team’s guard, Andy, admitted to Fox 5 Atlanta that he was unaware his wife was about to go into labor during the Falcons’ thrilling playoff victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Just before the game on January 14, Katie went into labor, and she sat through the entire thing.

“I went and showered up, came outside we went home for like an hour, went to the hospital and then she gave birth,” Andy told the television station.

At 12:07 a.m. on January 15, Lily Gene Levitre was born weighing eight pounds, ten and a half ounces.

According to Andy, Fox 5, the couple chose their daughter’s middle name as a tribute to Gene, Andy’s father, who had five boys but desired a girl.

Andy has had time to recover and get ready for the Falcons’ upcoming game on January 22 against the Green Bay Packers.

Andy said to the news station, “She’s literally taking one for the team.” “I really appreciate what she’s doing for me.”
