Unbelievable: The highly dedicated player for the Bills surprised the entire team by announcing with audacity that he intended to leave the team after receiving a sizable offer from…
To help their young quarterback, CJ Stroud, the Houston Texans could use more weapons, and they could get one by trading for Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who is a true no. 1.
Diggs’ name has surfaced in a number of mock trades, so there’s a good chance Buffalo will take the experienced wide receiver into consideration if the right price is offered. The only question left is: What would the Texans be able to provide the Bills in exchange for Diggs?
When talking about possible trade packages for Diggs, Bleacher Report’s Maurice Moton included a proposal that included the terms of a trade with the Texans.
Diggs appears to be a win-win for both parties, but the Texans will need to give up their 2024 first-round pick (ranked no. 23 overall) and their fourth-round selection (ranked no. 123 overall) in order to acquire him. Although
the Bills receive draft capital that should aid in roster restructuring, Houston gains an experienced wideout who can help enhance Stroud’s play even further.
About the agreement, Moton wrote the following:
Stroud could throw for nearly 5,000 yards and more than 30 touchdowns (if needed) thanks to Diggs’ dependable 68.8 percent catch rate and veteran sense.
Like the Philadelphia Eagles did two years ago, Houston can trade first- and middle-round draft picks for a legitimate No. 1 receiver. Remember, a few months before he turned 25, Brown was acquired by Philadelphia for a first- and third-round pick.
Due to his age, Diggs may be slightly less expensive than Brown, but the Bills can still demand a high draft pick thanks to his impressive record.
Whether the Texans are able to complete a trade for Diggs this offseason is still to be seen. However, it will undoubtedly be a huge boost for them if they succeed.
Houston Texans Will Be Deadlier With CJ Stroud and Stefon Diggs Together
Buffalo Bills, CJ Stroud, Stefon Diggs, and Houston Texans
Feb. 4, 2024, Orlando, FL, USA: At Camping World Stadium during the 2024 Pro Bowl, Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud (7) of the AFC drops back to pass.
With a weapon like Stefon Diggs at his disposal on the Houston Texans offense, there’s reason to think that CJ Stroud can produce higher yardage.
During his rookie campaign, Stroud completed 63.9 percent of his passes for 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns. In addition, he only had five interceptions, making him one of the league’s most effective quarterbacks.
Diggs, meanwhile, caught 107 passes for 1183 yards and eight touchdowns. Given that the wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills isn’t exactly having the best season, it’s easy to see him improving if given the right circumstances.
Diggs, who is only thirty years old, ought to have plenty of energy left in him to contribute as a veteran and influential receiver for the Texans.
Although the Texans should be intrigued by the prospect of adding a quality wideout like Diggs, it is unclear how much interest they will have in him.
