In an attempt to maintain that momentum off the field, the Gers are allegedly planning a summer acquisition to make up for a deal that fell through during the winter window.

Rangers signed Mohamed Diomande on loan from Nordsjaelland, Oscar Cortes on loan from Lens, and Fabio Silva on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers by the end of the window.
The Scottish powerhouses were unable in closing the deal for Fluminense left-back Jefte. Reportedly, the reason for the collapse of the deal was Fluminense’s inability to terminate Jefte’s loan at APOEL Nicosia. The left-back’s parent club was unwilling to match APOEL’s demand of £500k to end the move.

Dean Jones reports that Rangers and Fluminense will hold open discussions on a summer transfer for Jefte, who was demanding a change in January. “It’s always a nice sign if you know that a player has been trying to cause a bit of trouble,” Jones said to Give MeSport.
