Heartbreaking news. The Baltimore Ravens have confirmed the sudden death of their best coach, who…
After a fight with esophageal cancer, Clarence Brooks, the Baltimore Ravens’ assistant coach with the longest tenure, passed away on Saturday. He was sixty-five.
Brooks began working for the Ravens in 2005.
After joining the Ravens in 2005, Brooks spent 11 seasons coaching the defensive line. In December, he disclosed his condition and assumed the position of senior defensive assistant.
The Ravens’ head coach, John Harbaugh, stated, “We loved that man.” “One of the finest coaches I have ever met, he changed the lives and influenced players and coaches for the better.”
“Very few, if any, coaches influenced their players — on and off the field — like Clarence Brooks,” stated general manager Ozzie Newsome.
The Ravens allowed the fewest rushing touchdowns (89) of any NFL club in Brooks’ eleven years as line coach. Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata, a two-time all-pro selection and five-time Pro Bowl selection, benefited from his guidance throughout his career.

Brooks was a coach with the Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, and Chicago Bears before coming to the Ravens.
The team website quotes Brooks’ wife Justa as saying, “We knew he loved his players.” It has become clear to us from all of this how much his players cherished him. We appreciate everyone’s kind support.
