Hearbreak News: Due to a bet,two Boston players were arrested because of the bet.
Is it too soon to propose that Jayson Tatum, the star forward for the Boston Celtics, have his jersey retired? Frank Urbina of Hoops Hype believes otherwise in a recent piece examining which current players would be worthy of the
distinction. “Reggie Lewis is the only retired number in the franchise without a championship to his name, so it’s difficult to get your number retired without a championship for a franchise as proud as the Celtics,” says Urbina.
Even if a championship is never won, Jayson Tatum appears to be well on his way to achieving that status, the H/H analyst continues.
Plus, given the caliber of play the team has shown since Tatum arrived, it’s difficult not to see Tatum taking home at least one championship in Boston.
It’s not an unfair argument to make when speculating about whether the St. Louis native should see his No. 0 in the rafters when you take that viewpoint into account.
Tatum’s jersey being retired in Boston could very well happen, despite the many ifs that need to be fulfilled for it to make sense based on what we have seen from the former Duke standout.
