Sad News Lamar Jackson is compared to a key player signed by Baltimore who is thinking about staying.

After agreeing to a new contract, Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson—who is currently the highest paid player in NFL history—tells people that he thought about leaving Charm City but that the city’s supporters show him “genuine” love, so he decided to “finish it here.”

The 26-year-old quarterback spoke with people at the Roll with the Punches Foundation’s “It’s Okay, Knot to Be Okay” black tie and sneaker gala held over the weekend. The quarterback and the Ravens agreed to a five-year, $260 million contract last month.

“I just love everything about Baltimore—a wonderful fan base, you know—even though I was getting DMs, like, people are going to miss me, you know, stuff like that,” he continues.

Prior to attending the University of Louisville, Jackson was raised in Florida. He claims the city of Maryland has welcomed him as their quarterback.

On the red carpet prior to the mental health awareness event, Jackson remarked, “I feel like this is my third home, because I count Louisville as my second home, just because I played there for three years, and just the love they show, it’s like, genuine.” “It’s like I’m part of their family, and I felt like when people go into work, you know, whether we win or lose, it defines their week, how they’re going to prepare for work, and stuff like that.”

Following his injury, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson thanked Bills fans for their donations to his favorite charity.
At MetLife Stadium on September 11, during a game against the New York Jets, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson completes a pass.

The Heisman Trophy winner also has his sights set on the Vince Lombardi Trophy. He will play alongside star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. this season.

“Man, I would really rather finish it here. You’re aware? “Succeed in this Super Bowl, as I mentioned, and the possibilities are endless. We’ll see what else develops,” he continues.

Jackson, his mother, Felicia Jones, and his production company were honored at the gala with the Chairman’s Award by the foundation in recognition of their work advocating for mental health.

“They not only talk the talk, but they walk the walk,” Founder and Executive Director Joe Diggs said, mentioning Lamar and his mother in the process of presenting the award.

The gala was hosted by actor Anthony Anderson, who gained popularity for his eight-season starring role on the television series Black-ish.
