Total Breakdown; Another star player for the Bills has released an official statement about his retirement….
On January 21, 2024, in Orchard Park, New York, at Highmark Stadium, during the AFC Divisional Playoff game versus the Kansas City Chiefs, Stefon Diggs (#14) of the Buffalo Bills reacts.
The Buffalo Bills appeared to finally find their rhythm in the second half of the 2023 NFL regular season, and many fans thought this would be the year the illustrious organization would finally win the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy.
With six straight victories to close off the regular season, the Bills captured the AFC East division title and guaranteed a spot in the NFL playoffs.
The Bills seemed to have the best chance of representing the AFC in the big game and going deep in the postseason, with the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs seemingly having a bad year.
Regretfully, Buffalo failed miserably once more in the playoffs; Patrick Mahomes and company arrived at Highmark Stadium victorious and proceeded to the AFC Championship Game.
During the Chiefs vs. Bills playoff game, one thing that stood out was how little of an impact star wide receiver Stefon Diggs made.
He caught three passes for 21 yards on four targets at the end of the game.
Following the game, it was generally agreed upon that Diggs had played his final down for the Bills. However, following his remarks at the Pro Bowl regarding his future in Buffalo, this looks even more likely, according to ESPN’s Stephen Holder.
Diggs remarked, “I can’t tell you what the future holds, but I’m still me.”
Diggs’ contract with the Bills expires in four years, although the organization may trade him in the NFL summer.
Diggs had a dismal playoff campaign, but Buffalo may still be able to acquire something of value in exchange for him.
