The Warriors’ head coach stunned the supporters and all NBA teams.

Steph Curry’s achievements keep coming in.

Curry’s fourth championship with the Golden State Warriors on Thursday earned him the NBA Finals MVP award. Shortly after, Davidson College announced that Curry would have his No. 30 jersey retired and be inducted into the Davidson Athletics Hall of Fame.

The induction and jersey retiring ceremony are scheduled for August 31, which is also Curry’s diploma day upon graduating from college with a sociology major.

“We’re doing it in threes—Steph likes threes, right?” Chris Clunie, the director of athletics, stated this in a press release on Friday after the announcement.

Davidson has retired six players’ numbers, but Curry’s No. 30 will be the first to be retired.

When Curry entered for the most recent spring semester, he was just one semester away from graduating. To get his degree, the two-time NBA MVP collaborated with two Davidson professors: one from Stanford University and another from the University of California-Santa Cruz.

“Reliving the sights and sounds of school and campus and all that is cool,” Curry remarked. “Obviously, this has been a long time coming. Completing it was a goal I had had since leaving campus. A commitment I made to my mother and Coach (Bob) McKillop when I departed after my junior year was evidently the reason for my success. They had the Fathead (cutout) over on campus in my honor, so it was really wonderful.
