Joe Mazzulla has revealed his next high-profile addition, spending more than $700 million.

According to ESPN, Jaylen Brown, a great player for the Boston Celtics, has decided to take the highest-paid contract in NBA history.

Jaylen Brown’s agent, Jason Glushon, notified ESPN on Tuesday that his client, the renowned Boston Celtics star, had agreed to sign the largest contract in NBA history.

This incredible $304 million five-year supermax extension is the result of the deal.

To finalize the closing terms of this historic contract, Brown and Glushon met with the ownership and management of the Boston Celtics on Sunday night.

The two-time All-Star’s services are guaranteed until the 2028–2029 NBA season thanks to this unprecedented arrangement.

Jaylen Brown’s SuperMax Agreement
Mike Conley got the highest NBA contract seven years ago, at $153 million. Jaylen Brown will now double that amount to $304 million.

Due to increases in the salary ceiling and league income, Brown’s new contract surpasses Nikola Jokic’s $276 million pact with the Denver Nuggets.

To complete the deal, the 26-year-old had a physical on Monday in Boston.

Brown was deemed eligible for the five-year supermax agreement with the Celtics following his 2022–2023 season of winning second-team All-NBA honors.

He forms one of the NBA’s most exciting and effective duos with teammate Jayson Tatum, who is eligible for a supermax extension the following summer.

The two players are the cornerstones of the Celtics’ hopes of winning an NBA title.

Brown put up a fantastic showing the previous season, averaging a career-high 26.6 points and a scorching 49% shooting percentage.

He will make $31.8 million this season, which is the last year of his current contract.

After the 2024–2025 season, when the new deal goes into effect, Brown’s earnings will jump to an incredible $52.3 million. Looking ahead, he will command an astounding $69.1 million in 2028–2029, the deal’s final year.

Regretfully, Brown will not receive a no-trade clause as part of the agreement, even with this lucrative contract.

Jaylen Brown’s Initial Journey with the Boston Celtics
The Celtics have routinely advanced to the postseason during Brown’s remarkable seven-year NBA tenure. This remarkable accomplishment includes three Eastern Conference Finals appearances and a trip to the NBA Finals in 2022.

Interestingly, Brown—who was selected with the third overall pick in the 2016 draft—has played a significant role in Boston’s ascent to prominence ever since he was a standout player at the University of California, Berkeley.

Last season, Tatum and Brown put on an incredible show, averaging a stunning 56.7 points per game between them.

With this accomplishment, they rank as the fourth-highest scoring team since their merger in the 1976–77 campaign.

In addition, they each reached a noteworthy milestone by scoring 30 points in 10 games, something that had only been done in the preceding three decades by Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant.

During the same season, Brown also demonstrated a great deal of development as a shot maker. A little over half of his shots were made without help, demonstrating his capacity to generate scoring opportunities by himself.

According to Second Spectrum, this progress resulted in a career-high of 1.15 points per direct drive.

These remarkable displays of skill further establish Brown and Tatum as one of the NBA’s most dynamic and productive duos.

The Jaylen’s outside of the court
In addition to his skill on the basketball court, Brown has a wide range of interests and talents. He has shown himself to be an accomplished businessman, a fashion expert, and a powerful role model for many young people. Furthermore, he engages in both local and global humanitarian endeavors.

As the National Basketball Players Association’s vice president at the moment, Brown is actively involved in advancing the rights and welfare of his teammates.

, he was present at Paris Fashion Week and spoke at Variety’s Sports and Entertainment Summit about the importance of success off the court.

Brown has played a significant role in developing collaborations that give disadvantaged young people of color access to equal educational chances and leadership opportunities through his 7uice Foundation.

The third annual Bridge Program in Boston, which takes in 100 kids from public schools and promotes personal development, is one of his ongoing projects.
