Two of the Boston Celtics Star players has sustained serious injuries which has caused a major setback for the team.
Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford are on the Boston Celtics‘ injury report ahead of their game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday. The Latvian’s left ankle sprain, which he sustained on Thursday against the Miami Heat, makes him questionable. The starting center for Boston was forced to miss the Celtics’ game against the LA Clippers on Saturday.
Horford is recovering from a sprain to his left neck, so his status is unknown. The seasoned big man might have sustained the injury during that game because he only played 19 minutes in LA’s 115-96 defeat. Horford is on the injured list for the first time this season for the previously mentioned reason.

For the Boston Celtics, the unpredictability surrounding the availability of Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis will be a major issue. The team’s third-string center, Luke Kornet, has also been declared doubtful because of tightness in his left hamstring. Boston’s sole natural center will be Neemias Queta if they are all ultimately eliminated.
If all three of the centers are out of the lineup, it will be difficult for Boston to defeat the New Orleans Pelicans. The formidable front line of the Pelicans, which includes Herb Jones, Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson, and Jonas Valanciunas, might win the game on Monday.
What became of Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis?
Throughout the season, the Celtics have taken extra precautions with Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis. They alternated between sitting on the sidelines to rest on consecutive nights. The training staff wanted to err on the side of caution because Porzingis sustained a plantar fasciitis injury during the offseason. The Celtics want to keep Horford fresh for as long as possible because he is getting older.
Porzingis has been battling issues with his ankle, knee, calf, and eyes. They’ve caused him to miss 13 games already, combined with the occasional break. The most recent injury suffered by the former All-Star happened on Thursday against the Miami Heat.
Following the game, Porzingis informed the media that the injury wasn’t serious. Nevertheless, Boston decided to bench him against the LA Clippers on Saturday because it was important enough.

Al Horford, meanwhile, has missed eight games for the Celtics so far this season. He rested for six of those days, during which he was not active. He was held out the other two times for unrelated illnesses.
Boston’s first game of a back-to-back set will be against New Orleans on Monday, followed by a matchup with the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. It’s possible that Horford’s inclusion on the injury report has nothing to do with the next few games.
Fans of the Celtics may want to keep an eye on Al Horford’s left neck sprain.
When is Kristaps Porzingis coming back?
With confidence, Kristaps Porzingis declared that the ankle injury was not serious. Should that be the case, he might be able to play against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday. When Boston plays Indiana, he may have to return to the sidelines, assuming he is able to play.
