A SAD NEWS The Utah Jazz have announced that their head coach will be fired due to the events that transpired in…

Snyder recently concluded his seventh season with the Jazz, who were eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks in the opening round of the playoffs.

Since the end of the season, his fate in Utah has been uncertain. The Jazz are presently the only clubs in the league without a head coach, along with the Charlotte Hornets.

Despite making the playoffs in each of the previous six seasons and finishing with an overall record of 372-264, Snyder was unable to go past the Western Conference semifinals and had a postseason record of just 21-30.

For the past eight years, Quin Snyder has personified what jazz basketball is all about, according to a statement released by Jazz owner Ryan Smith.

Quin is a professional, as seen by his unwavering work ethic and meticulous attention to detail on a daily basis. Quin has my utmost respect, and I admire his decision.

“On behalf of Ashley, myself, our ownership group, and our entire organization, we sincerely appreciate Quin and Amy’s contributions to the Jazz and the state of Utah, and we wish them nothing but the best.”

Although it’s largely assumed that Snyder still wants to coach, it’s unclear what he will do moving forward.

After four seasons of being an assistant coach, the Jazz became his first head coach in the league. But eventually, he will undoubtedly be considered for a head coaching position in the NBA.

Prospective Jazz head coaches
Several names, including those with Utah connections, started circulating right away as possible contenders for the Jazz’s currently available position.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that former assistant of the Jazz and current assistant coach of the New York Knicks, Johnnie Bryant, as well as current assistant Alex Jensen, were likely to be considered.

Another potential contender was Terry Stotts, the former coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, who worked with the Jazz this season.
