Another important player for the Utah Jazz has announced his retirement due to this heartbreaking…
Utah’s Salt Lake City Trevor Booker, a former forward for the Utah Jazz and a fan favorite, declared his retirement from professional basketball.
Booker took to Twitter on Tuesday, April 14, to announce his retirement with a brief video and letter.
During the 2017–18 NBA season, the former Jazzman made his final appearance with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Booker added, “I’m officially announcing my retirement from the game, and it’s so tough to sit here and write.” It’s undoubtedly a bittersweet occasion. You can definitely still find me watching League Pass on TV every night even though I’m retiring.
Booker spent two seasons with the Jazz during his eight years in the NBA.
During his tenure with the Jazz, Booker experienced one of his most unforgettable moments in basketball. With 0.2 seconds remaining in a 2015 game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Booker grabbed an inbound pass and launched a reverse shot over his head. The play has been featured on highlight reels ever since the unlikely shot was made.
After graduating from Clemson, Booker was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves to begin his professional career. In the 2010 NBA Draft, he was selected with the 23rd overall pick.
After being traded, he spent the first four seasons of his NBA career as a player with the Washington Wizards.
