The Detroit Lions have suffered a tremendous setback, as Dan Campbell has regretfully declared that…
At the end of the 2023 season, Teddy Bridgewater, the quarterback for the Detroit Lions, will hang up his NFL boots. In an incredible story by Dave Birkett, the veteran quarterback revealed as much to the Detroit Free Press this week.
After the birth of his second son this offseason, Bridgewater told Birkett he was thinking about retiring, but he decided to give it one more shot after speaking with Lions coach Dan Campbell on multiple occasions.
Bridgewater remarked, “I was really like content with being done.” “And honestly, not much went into it; it was just that I felt good and could leave on my own terms.” But when Dan and I started talking, it was as though Dan was saying, “Man, all right, Dan, I got you.”
Campbell made the case for visiting Detroit, taking in the atmosphere, and developing the future football players, especially Hendon Hooker, the rookie quarterback, and Jameson Williams, the second-year receiver. This week, at a press conference, Campbell detailed Bridgewater’s remarkable track record as a mentor.
