The Philadelphia Flyers have finally signed this incredible star to a historic contract after a protracted battle.
General Manager Daniel Briere of the Philadelphia Flyers announced the team’s 23-man opening day active roster today.
There are three goalies, seven defensemen, and thirteen forwards on the current roster:
Forwards: Joel Farabee, Tyson Foerster, Morgan Frost, Garnet Hathaway, Travis Konecny, Scott Laughton, Ryan Poehling, Owen Tippett, Bobby Brink, Noah Cates, Sean Couturier, Nick Deslauriers, Joel Atkinson
Cam York, Egor Zamula, Marc Staal, Nick Seeler, Emil Andrae, and Sean Walker are the defensemen.
Goalies: Felix Sandstrom, Carter Hart, and Samuel Ersson
Ryan Ellis and Rasmus Ristolainen, two Flyers defensemen, are also listed as injured. J.R. Avon, a forward, is on the injured non-roster list.
Out of the 23 players who were active on opening day, 14 were selected through draft, six were signed, and three were acquired by the Flyers:
Emil Andrae (2020), Bobby Brink (2019), Carter Hart (2016), Noah Cates (2017), Sean Couturier (2011), Samuel Ersson (2018), Joel Farabee (2018), Tyson Foerster (2020), Morgan Frost (2017), Travis Konecny (2015), Scott Laughton (2012), Felix Sandstrom (2015), Travis Sanheim (2014), Cam York (2019) are among those who were drafted.
Nick Deslauriers (2022), Ryan Poehling (2023), Nick Seeler (2021), Marc Staal (2023), and Egor Zamula (2018) have all signed.
Sean Walker (2023), Owen Tippett (2022), and Cam Atkinson (2021) were traded.
Philadelphia’s regular season schedule for 2023–24 begins on Thursday, October 12, at 7 p.m. against Columbus. The game is scheduled to air on 97.5 The Fanatic and NCSP.
