The Arizona Wildcats have finally signed this incredible star to a historic contract after a protracted battle.

Twenty-two players were confirmed for Arizona’s 2024 recruiting class, which included the team that ended the regular season with the Territorial Cup. Since then, the percentage has consistently decreased, which could mean that potential fans have changed their minds about the Wildcats or—more likely—that the program is making room for new commitments.

Three-star defensive lineman Jaedon Langley of Texas is the most recent to withdraw from the class; he did so on Sunday. With the Early Signing Period ending on December 20, this is the fifth decommitment since Nov. 30. UA’s 2024 class now consists of just 17 known players; overall, 11 players who were previously committed to the class have withdrawn.

Athletes Landon Bell, Chance Harrison, Kayo Patu, and receiver Quimari Shemwell are among those who have withdrawn since the Territorial Cup. According to 247Sports, none were ranked higher than No. 746 in the nation.

Arizona’s class currently ranks 51st in the nation, but based on recent activity involving other 2024 recruits, it appears the Wildcats plan to replace those departures. This past weekend, the Wildcats hosted four-star Utah offensive lineman Darius Afalava and two Oregon commits, four-star linebacker Dylan Williams and receiver Dillon Gresham, in addition to a number of transfer portal targets making campus visits.

Four-star receiver Aaron Butler, who decommitted from Colorado on Saturday, is also a possibility for the UA. Butler disclosed to Greg Biggins of 247Sports that his father was a player at Pitt who teamed up with Brennan Carroll, the offensive coordinator and coach of Arizona.

“Before I committed to Colorado, Arizona was one of my favorite schools, and they’re recruiting me hard,” Butler remarked. “I’m going to schedule an official visit when they come in for a home visit early next week.”
